Seminole County Public Schools

Parents should always have a role in their children’s education – make your voice heard!
Voters in Seminole County will have the opportunity to vote for 2 School Board members in the Seminole County Public School district on November 8, 2022. Each School Board member is elected “at-large.” This means that all voters registered within Seminole County can vote for 1 candidate in each of the 2 contests.

District 2 CANDIDATES

Sean Cooper is a father of 2 and the CEO of the non-profit USA Unites.

 

Cooper is a registered Republican and has voted in Republican Primary elections.

 

Regarding CRT, Cooper says it is the School Board member’s duty to follow the law and not teach CRT in school districts.

 

Cooper believes conversations of sex and sexuality “are best handled in a loving context between parents or guardians and their child.”

 

Cooper’s priorities include fostering an environment for academic excellence, character building, and building a strong relationship with student families.

Kelley Davis is a mother of 2. After serving in the United States Army she became a math teacher, and later, a lawyer.

 

Davis is a registered Democrat.

 

Davis is supported by the Seminole County Democratic Party.

 

Davis’ priorities include teacher recruitment and retention, increased assistance for those struggling with the consequences of covid, and supporting safety programs.

District 5 CANDIDATES

Dana Fernandez is a mother of 8 and previously served as a teacher.


Fernandez does not support the “woke agenda that’s been indoctrinating instead of educating our students.”


Fernandez has called for “no more lockdowns and no mandates” to provide an uninterrupted school experience for students.


Fernandez disagrees with parents being labeled “domestic terrorists.”


Fernandez’s priorities include school safety, parental rights, accountability, and prioritizing student interests.

Autumn is a mother and the founder of an educational theater company. She has also worked in Seminole County Schools.

 

Garick is a registered Democrat and has voted in Democratic Primary elections. Her campaign is supported by the Seminole County Democratic Party.

 

Garick has been endorsed by school employees unions.

 

Garick’s priorities include teacher recruitment and retention, family engagement.
